Carl M. Schlechty GREENVILLE -- Carl Matthew Schlechty, age 18, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, as the result of a traffic accident. Carl was born on May 31, 2007, the son of Craig Biggin and Jennifer (Pierson) Schlechty. Along with his parents, Carl is survived by his brothers, Caleb and Caden, his grandparents, Tony and Marty Schlechty, Randy and Marlena Hood and Charles Pierson; his great-grandmother, Sharon Schlechty; his uncles and aunts, Kyle and Amber Schlechty, Kurt and Emily Schlechty, Ryan and Nicole Hope and Christopher Hope; his cousins, Kody, Kaylee, Elaina, Kenna, Adalyn and James as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, James Schlechty; his aunt, Keri Schlechty, his great-grandfather, Carl Gene Schlechty and great-grand parents, James and Patricia Hope. Carl was a senior at Ansonia High School and attended the MVCTC studying Heavy Equipment Operations. Carl was a past member of the Ansonia FFA and was an active member of the Banner Bound 4H club showing hogs. He was a third-generation member of the Darke County Tractor Pullers Association and was quick to be involved with the track crew for the National Tractor Pullers Association. Carl attended Reverent Church in Greenville and had participated in many youth group activities and camps as well as with Youth for Christ.?He loved to drive semi and work on the farm with his dad and grandpa.? ?When he wasnt working, Carl enjoyed hanging out with his friends, where you could find them, many times working on trucks in the shop. Carl will be long remembered for his desire to help those in need, his smile, and his hugs.? It was Carls desire to head west this summer to work on a Harvest Crew with his cousin, Kody. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Reverent Church, 1451 Sater Street, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Nick Good officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.? Memorial contributions may be given in Carl's memory to Blue Collar Memorial Fund at any Greenville National Bank location or 7200 Arnold Rd. Greenville, OH 45331.
