Mabelann E. Nealeigh Preston BLISSFIELD, MI — Mabelann Etta Nealeigh Preston, affectionately known as Ann, Mom Preston, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Aunt Ann, and in her later years “Queen Ann,” passed into the presence of the Lord at her home in Blissfield, Michigan, on April 12, 2026, surrounded by the legacy of a life well lived and deeply loved. Ann was born in Greenville, Ohio, and was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Richard “Dick” Preston. She faithfully supported him throughout his distinguished career as a school superintendent, serving in twelve communities across Ohio, Michigan, and North Carolina. Lovingly known as “Mom Preston” to both her family and many spiritual sons and daughters, Ann had a remarkable gift for making people feel valued and loved. As Grandma and Great-Grandma, she was a steady, warm, and wise presence. To her extended family, she was a constant source of encouragement and care. Ann was passionate about Jesus and horses. After a dramatic healing through an encounter with Christ, she led her family to salvation and lived a life of vibrant faith. Her lifelong love of horses brought her great joy as she owned and cared for many throughout her years in Michigan and North Carolina. She had a beautiful singing voice and glorified the Lord as both a soloist and choir member. Her worship extended far beyond music—her life itself reflected her devotion. Ann was known for her spontaneous and compassionate prayers, often praying for people she met in everyday settings, including during her final days at Flower Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. In recent years, she was joyfully crowned “Queen Ann” by her She Leads America daughters, a fitting tribute to her grace, dignity, and Christ-centered life. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Arthur Nealeigh Sr. and Bonnie Claretta Wills Nealeigh, as well as her beloved siblings: Mary Unger; Daniel “Bud” A. Nealeigh Jr.; Bonnie Fourman; Guy L. Nealeigh; Martha Huntzinger; Barbara P. Pfowtz; Richard Nealeigh; James Nealeigh; Vern Nealeigh; and Nancy Wenger. She is survived by her children: Liz (Syd) Doyle of Blissfield, Michigan; Dave (Penny Sparks) Preston of Wimberley, Texas; and Elaine (Jeff) Theus of Greenville, North Carolina. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Josh (Jenny) Doyle and their children, Lauren and Reuben; Rachel (Chad) Dohring and their children, Kyla, Josslyn, Rayne, and Trevor; Sara Preston-Hahn and her children, Simon and Grace; Caitlin Preston and her daughter, Lena; Erin Preston-Dekker and her sons, Gavin and Griffin; Shannon Sparks-Burnett and her children, Adrianna, Ryker, and Eli; as well as Alexa Lara-Theus and her children, Nikolas and Vivian, and Maddie Theus. She is also lovingly remembered by the many spiritual sons and daughters whose lives she deeply touched. Her life was marked by steadfast faith and evangelistic zeal. While living in Defiance, Ohio, she wrote a Bible verse each week on her picture window using white shoe polish—her personal “wayside pulpit” to share God’s Word. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2026, at Miracle Meadows Ranch in Adrian, Michigan. For details, contact Lizrdld@yahoo.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the She Leads America Inc. “Queen Ann Preston Memorial Fund” via Venmo @Nations-Light or at sheleadsamerica.com. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
