Steven C. Roach GREENVILLE -- Steven Clyde "Steve" Roach, 69, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on May 27, 2025. Born on February 9, 1956, in Springfield, Ohio, Steve lived a life filled with music, laughter, and deep devotion to his family and students. Steve pursued his passion for music early in life, earning a degree in music education from Bowling Green State University. He later continued his academic journey at Wright State University, where he obtained a master’s degree in education. These foundations led to a remarkable 30-year teaching career that left a lasting impression on countless students. Steve took immense pride in his role as an educator—not only teaching music but also creating unforgettable experiences for his students. Under his direction, they performed at high-profile events including halftime shows for the Cincinnati Bengals and at Walt Disney World. Beyond the classroom, Steve was a vibrant presence in the community. He served as director of the Greenville Municipal Park Band and played in a Dixieland band, sharing his love of music with audiences near and far. His enthusiasm was infectious—whether leading rehearsals or telling stories that had everyone laughing until they cried. Steve was known as the life of the party—a gifted storyteller and jokester whose warmth drew people to him wherever he went. He cherished time with his family above all else. Married to Patricia Roach for 45 years until her passing, Steve found joy in every moment spent with her and their daughters. He delighted in watching Sara Maham and Katie Murphy grow into adulthood and took great pleasure in vacationing with them and their families. He especially loved being a grandfather to Sebastian and Roman Murphy. Whether teaching them harmless mischiefs or cheering them on from the sidelines, Steve loved his grandsons unconditionally. Steve is survived by his daughters Sara Maham, her husband Jordon and Katie Murphy, her husband Matt, along with grandsons Sebastian and Roman Murphy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Roach; sister Jane Holland; brother Dave Roach; and parents Clyde and Vera Roach. Steven Clyde Roach leaves behind a legacy rich with melody, laughter, and love—a legacy that will continue to resonate through all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
