Pauline Horner GREENVILLE -- Pauline Horner age 90, of Greenville passed away at 12:37 pm Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Oakley Place in Greenville. Pauline was born March 2, 1935, in Darke County to the late Charles F. & Eva I. (Melling) Koeller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Horner on April 26, 2018, whom she married October 8, 1952; grandson, Ryan Riffle; brothers, Howard and Junior Koeller; sisters, Ellen Hines, Phyllis Knick, Joan Alspaugh, Beverly McDade and infant Betty Koeller; as well as other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Pauline is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Connie & David Kaplan of Greenville and Carol & Doug Riffle of Greenville; granddaughter, Lisa (Riffle) & Denny Moore; great grandchildren, Peyton Moore, Gracelyn Moore and Alyssa Moore; in-laws, Jack & Gloria Horner of Greenville, Jean & Dave Mogle of New Madison, and Roger Best of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline was a 1952 graduate of Covington High School. She worked for 33 years at Greenville City Schools, 21 years as a cook and 12 years as secretary to the cafeteria manager. She volunteered for 17 years at the Darke County Low Vision Support Group. Pauline had a deep love for music. She performed with her husband, Don in Dons Rhythmaires from 1959 to 1971. She was a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 599. Pauline enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, and exploring genealogy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.
