NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING #2 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PY2025 CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM DARKE COUNTY, OHIO The Darke County Board of Commissioners intend to apply to the Ohio Department of Development, Office of Community Development for funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Critical Infrastructure Program. This program is funded by Title I of the Federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The funds will be used for a community development project in the Village of Wayne Lakes that will include street improvements on portions of Main Drive, North Drive, North Middle Drive, West Drive, and Community Drive. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $500,000.00. The Village of Wayne Lakes is proposing to commit an estimated $50,000.00 in non-CDBG funds to the project. The activities will be designed to meet the CDBG Program National Objective to principally serve Low-Moderate Income individuals as an area-wide benefit. On February 13, 2025, the first of two required public hearings for Program Year 2025 was held and at that time the County informed communities and citizens about the various CDBG programs available, how they may be used, eligible activities, and supplemental program requirements. The Darke County Commissioners will hold a second public hearing on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Board Room of the Darke County Administration Building located at 520 South Broadway, Greenville, Ohio. This hearing will provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on a CDBG project proposed to be federally funded in the Village of Wayne Lakes. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding the proposed project either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to the Darke County Grants Office, 520 South Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331 no later than June 5, 2025 in order to insure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses. For additional information concerning the proposed project, please contact the Grants Office at the Darke County Administration building at 937.547.7368. The Darke County Administration Building is a handicapped accessible facility.
