Cathy A. Subler PORTLAND, IN -- Cathy Ann Subler born November 19, 1955 in Dayton, OH, beloved wife, mother, and mamaw passed away February 7, 2026 at home surrounded by family. Cathy’s greatest joys in life were being a dedicated ER nurse of 32 years in the emergency rooms of Jay County Hospital and Wayne Hospital and being a Mamaw. Cathy especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who brought endless happiness and laugher into her life. Creating memories that will be treasured forever. Cathy was preceded in death by parents: Frank Cox and Marilyn Miller (Zeke), grandparents: Perry and Thelma Shuff, her sister Pam Guy and stepbrother Pat Miller. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tony. Cathy was a proud and loving mother of her daughters: Lisa Couch (Chris) and Lori Miller (Scott Hargrave). Her siblings: Terry Cox (Tracy) and Penny Shimomura (Dale) cherished her. Cathy is forever loved by her grandchildren: Lexi, Le’a, Emily, Christopher, Della, Britney, Ethan, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held at a later date.
