Carolee Bridenbaugh Boardman GREENVILLE -- In Loving Memory of Carolee Bridenbaugh Boardman December 7, 1941 – August 4, 2025. Carolee Bridenbaugh Boardman entered this world on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941, in Greenville, Ohio, a bright light given to Doris Lenora Christensen Bridenbaugh and Wilbur Duane Bridenbaugh. Just 21 months later, they welcomed her beloved brother, Wilbur Duane Bridenbaugh Jr. “Butch,” into the family. Carolee spent her early years in Greenville before the family moved to Pitsburgh, Ohio, and later to West Carrollton so her father could be close to his work at the General Motors plant. She graduated with honors from West Carrollton High School in 1960, already known for her sharp intellect, high standards, and lovely presence. She enjoyed sharing her musical talent in the school band as a clarinetist. After high school, Carolee attended The Ohio State University, becoming a proud Buckeye and a member of Alpha Phi sorority. Known by family and friends as “Toot,” she brought grace and style to every endeavor--even modeling hats, gloves, and clothing to help pay her tuition. She graduated with honors in 1962 with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene, embarking on a lifelong journey of caring for others, tending both body and spirit with compassion. Her path took a romantic turn when she spontaneously attended an Air Force Officers’ Ball at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where she met John Davies Boardman. They married in 1964, moving first to Boston, Massachusetts, where their daughter Stacey Diane was born, and later to Garland, Texas, where they welcomed their son John Davies Boardman Jr. “Sean.” Though their marriage ended after 27 years, they shared the joy of raising two children who remained her greatest earthly treasures. Never one to stop learning, Carolee earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas in 1980, later founding her own practice, Therapy Associates of Garland. She specialized in cranial sacral therapy, TMJ, and orthopedic care, faithfully serving her patients well into her 70s. In 1991, she completed her MBA from Amber University, ever committed to growth and excellence. Carolee’s life was full of adventure and joy. She skied with Sean, played competitive tennis, traveled the world, and even shone on the country-western dance floor. A faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and later Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, she was deeply rooted in her Lutheran faith and enjoyed studying the writings of Martin Luther. She instilled in her children the values of faith, service, and perseverance. She was a gracious hostess, gifted cook, and skilled seamstress and quilter, with an eye for beauty and detail. Her home was always warm and welcoming, a reflection of her love for family, friends, and the many cats and dogs she cared for over the years. She had a tender heart for the hurting, both people and animals. In 2011, she moved to Kingwood to be near Stacey, her son-in-law “Mikey,” and her grandchildren. Her role as “Nanny” was one she cherished beyond measure. She attended their games, cooked their favorite meals, swam with them, shared her love of food, and made every visit a celebration. To her, they could do no wrong, and her love for them was fierce and unconditional. Kingwood is also where she found great fellowship and friendship within her beloved Wednesday night Wine-Os group. In 2023, Carolee was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Even in the face of illness, her spirit remained unshaken--strong, intelligent, faithful, and beautiful to the end. She moved to Prosper, Texas, to be near Sean and her grandchildren for her final chapter, surrounded by love and care. Upon entering eternal life, Carolee was reunited with her parents, Doris and Wilbur, her brother Butch, her former husband John, and all her loved ones who went before her. She leaves behind her children, daughter Stacey Boardman Purcell, son-in-law Michael Purcell, and son Sean Boardman (ex-wife Chrissi Boardman), and her grandchildren, Claire Purcell Amsler (husband Daniel Amsler), Connal Purcell Canada (husband Keith Canada), Cade Purcell, Cole Purcell, Jack Boardman, Beau Boardman, Troy Boardman, and Joey Kett, and her great-grandson Callum Canada and soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter Poppy Amsler. She is also survived by her niece Dianne Kett (partner Milton Hime), nephews Bill Kett (wife Jessica Kett) and Greg Bridenbaugh (wife Janine Bridenbaugh), niece Stephanie Bridenbaugh, and many dear friends, too numerous to name, whose lives she forever impacted. Her grandchildren perhaps said it best when they called her “The magnificent, omnipotent, matriarchal queen.” Today, we give thanks for her life and rejoice that she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23.
