Nickola M. Maccubbin DEFIANCE -- Nickola Marie (Brandon) Maccubbin, 73 of Defiance, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at her son's residence. She was born on July 13, 1952, to the late Charles and Wanda (Tester) Brandon in Greenville, Ohio. Nickola earned her bachelor’s degree from Defiance College. In June 1975, she married Harold Maccubbin. Nickola was a schoolteacher in Defiance for over 35 years until her retirement. She was also a member of The United Church of Christ. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling. Nickola is survived by her loving son, Christopher Maccubbin, brother-in-law, Kenneth Maccubbin, sister-in-law, Rita Brandon, and nieces and nephews; Mindy Brandon, Shawn Brandon, Sara Adkins, Josh Brandon, Jeff Brandon, Kristen Maccubbin, and Matthew Maccubbin. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Harold Maccubbin; her brother: Tommy Brandon; her sister-in-law: Sue Maccubbin. A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday July 25, 2025, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
