Betty L. Cook GREENVILLE -- Betty L. Cook, 98 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday August 16, 2025, at 6:35 PM at EverHeart Hospice Care Center. Betty was born April 6, 1927, in Union City, Indiana, the daughter of the late George Laurence and Ethel (Porter) Baker. Betty was a 1945 graduate of Westside High School; she started working at Kroger’s in Union City in 1944 at the age of 16 and worked there for 10 years before transferring to Kroger’s in Greenville where she worked for 30 years retiring in 1985 as a Front-End Manager. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William C. Cook on November 19, 2013, whom she married May 21, 1949; and her brothers, Robert, Elvin, and Delbert Baker. Betty is survived by her children and spouses, Sharon and Bruce Drew of Greenville, and John and Pam Cook of Greenville; her grandchildren and spouses, Matt and Karen Drew, Jenny and Jim King, Heather and Greg Zechar, and Amy and Chad Beanblossom; her great grandchildren, Laura, Ryan, and Rebecca Drew, Riley and Carson King, Austin and Tyler Zechar, and Evan and Hayden Beanblossom; her brother Billy Joe Baker of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville Ohio with Chaplain Tish Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire care team at EverHeart Hospice for their wonderful care for Betty. Memorial contributions may be given to EverHeart Hospice.
