Barbara L. Alexander ANSONIA -- Barbara L. Alexander, age 79, of Ansonia passed away at 8:25 am Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her residence. Barbara was born on December 24, 1945, in Winchester, Indiana, to the late John E. & Lillymae (Madison) Hardesty. Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry A. Alexander on June 12, 2012, whom she married September 11, 1966; brothers, John, Don, and Duane Hardesty; and sister-in-law, Mary Hardesty. Barbara is survived by her children, Charles W. (Randy Kulac) Alexander of Florida, Barbara A. Hawkins of North Carolina, Becky L. Meade of Ansonia, and Jenny Kuether of Versailles; grandchildren, Charles (Ana) Alexander, James (Kristina) Alexander, Walter (Jaime) Alexander, Jermey (Margaret) Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Hayley (Erik Martinez) Alexander, and Kenneth Meade; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Gamester of Ridgeville, Indiana, and Bill Hardesty of Deerfield, Indiana; sister-in-law, Uni Hardesty of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was a school bus aide and assisted in the cafeteria at Ansonia Local Schools for 29 years. Barbara was an avid owl collector. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Coleen Beasecker officiating. Burial will follow in Ansonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County or EverHeart Hospice.
