Betty Jutte VERSAILLES -- Betty Jutte, age 93, of Versailles, Ohio peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Betty was born on July 15, 1932 in North Star, Ohio to the late Bernadine (Rutschilling) and Joseph Bernholt. She married Luke Jutte on September 27, 1952. Betty was incredibly proud of her and Luke’s big family, and her long life was filled to the brim-- her freezer often stuffed with homemade cookies, shelves crowded with salt and pepper shakers, her hands busy with needlework and her arms swaddling babies of her own and others’. She taught us all the power of community, faith and, of course, a beautifully decorated birthday cake. Betty is survived by her children and their spouses: Debra (John) Blakeslee of Newark; Cindy (Tom) Schulze of Russia; Diane (Jeff) Staley of Anna; Randy (Lori Jo) Jutte of Loveland, Colorado; Pam (Chris) Raffel of Greenville; Lori (Doug) Skinner of Houston; Doug (Denise) Jutte of Minster; Lynn (Jim) Brant of Loveland, Ohio. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and brother and sister-in-law Lester and Lavon Bernholt of Versailles. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by husband Luke Jutte; son Steven Jutte; sisters Evelyn Bernholt, Jean Grilliot and Bertha Beyke; brother Melvin Bernholt in infancy; brothers-in-law Herbert Grilliot and Norbert Beyke. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm as well as on Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
